December 2021

Kauma Brief Encounter

International Partnerships

Saturday 4 December 2021

December 2021’s KBE focused on international partnerships. This KBE featured Kauma Tribe members Denise Saunders Thompson of IABD (USA), and Vivine Scarlett of dance Immersion (Toronto, Canada).

They came together to share their wealth of knowledge and discuss working across the different African Diasporas; diaspora vs diasporas linking to the Continent, and how we go about creating a level playing field for creative exchange across diasporas and the Continent.

Kauma Brief Encounters, also known as KBEs, are brief encounters arranged seasonally to bring together creatives in public physical spaces like restaurants, cafes, lounges, creative and/or digital spaces to exchange ideas, cultivate collaborations and deepen the artistic value. They are quick ‘home-away-from-home’ welcome breaks with like-minded people crossing borders in cities around the world. Share your travel plans or itinerary with us to schedule your stopover where one is happening.
