Kauma Brief Encounter – Film, Theatre and Festivals

Wednesday 29 July 2020
18:00 – 19:30 BST

On 29 July 2020, we hosted our first Kauma Brief Encounter (KBE) where we brought together creatives from across the globe to exchange ideas, cultivate collaborations, and deepen the artistic value.

This season’s Kauma Brief Encounter focused on Film, Theatre, and Festivals, and featured Kauma Tribe members Kenneth Uphopho, Executive Director of Lagos Fringe (Nigeria), and Sam Tebandeke, Managing Director of Page Six Management Ltd (Kenya). They came together to share a wealth of knowledge about showcasing film and theatre across a myriad of global platforms, specifically within the festival context.

Kauma Brief Encounters, also known as KBEs, are brief encounters arranged seasonally to bring together creatives in public physical spaces like restaurants, cafes, lounges, creative and/or digital spaces to exchange ideas, cultivate collaborations and deepen the artistic value. They are quick ‘home-away-from-home’ welcome breaks with like-minded people crossing borders in cities around the world. Share your travel plans or itinerary with us to schedule your stopover where one is happening.
