Who’s Next? Young Leaders in the Arts: Collectives as a Model for Leadership

Tuesday 30 March 2021
18:00 – 20:00 GMT

March 2021’s Kauma Brief Encounter focused on new models of leadership and artistic innovation driven by young artists working as a collective. Who’s Next? Young Leaders in the Arts, featured Kauma Tribe members wivdrawn (London, UK), and Afro Van Connect (Vancouver, Canada). They came together to share a wealth of knowledge about building a vision and shaping the future generations working across multiple disciplines within the arts.

Together we explored the following provocation – How do we support and collaborate with young leaders to connect internationally, intergenerationally, and across art forms?

Kauma Brief Encounters, also known as KBEs, are brief encounters arranged seasonally to bring together creatives in public physical spaces like restaurants, cafes, lounges, creative and/or digital spaces to exchange ideas, cultivate collaborations and deepen the artistic value. They are quick ‘home-away-from-home’ welcome breaks with like-minded people crossing borders in cities around the world.
